Insurance, compensation and accident
Amount of compensation
In case of an accident, the following amount will be paid by the insurance company.

※1 Injuries (including death and disability) of passengers due to accidents are compensated by insurance, regardless of the fault ratio of the driver. (Up to 30 million yen; compensation amount is determined by the insurance company based on Insurance conditions)
Deductible and the amount of damage that exceeds the compensation shall be borne by the customer. Insurance does not cover accidents with no police certificate or accidents that are listed in the disclaimers of the insurance conditions. Insurance does not cover delayed return without prior contact.
Examples of accidents not covered by insurance
- If you did not report the accident to police (no accident certificate);
- If the driver of the accident is not registered at the departure site;
- If the accident is due to driving without a license;
- If the accident is caused by drunk driving
- If there is a violation of the Rental Agreement of Toyota Rent-A-Lease; etc.
Deductible waiver
Cost: 1,100 yen/ day ※ 2,200 yen (2,000 yen tax excluded)/ day for bus and cargo vehicles with number plate category number starting with 1.
In case of an accident
In case of an accident, please give priority to human life.
- Help the injured
- Contact police
- Contact the departure shop
※ Make sure to report to the police and acquire the accident certificate (required for insurance).
In case of breakdown
In case of failure or malfunction of the vehicle, please contact the departure shop.
We will arrange an alternative vehicle if necessary.
Fees to be paid by customers in case of accident

◎ Vehicle: 50,000 yen (100,000 yen for vehicles of number plate category number starting with 1 or 2) |
The deductible is waived if you have the deductible waiver cover.
◎ Cost: 1,100 yen per day (2,200 yen for vehicles of number plate category number starting with 1 or 2) |
| Damages in excess of the amount of compensation |
Damages in excess of the amount of compensation and that are not covered by the insurance must be paid be customers. |
For example:
◎ Loss due to bodily injury exceeding 30 million yen
◎ Accidents not covered by the insurance such as drunk driving |
Non-operation charge

In the event of an accident, theft or defacement of a vehicle, and it needs to be repaired and/or cleaned, the fees listed on the right will be charged as part of compensation for lost business during the time of such repairs/cleaning. (Please note that this is different from the deductible waiver.) |
When the rented car is driven back to the scheduled return shop: 20,000 yen
When the rented car is not driven back to the scheduled return shop: 50,000 yen
When the rented car is drivable but is not returned to the scheduled return shop (left on road): 50,000 yen. |
